Our Cinnamon & Tangerine home fragrance is a rich cocktail of orange and tangerine infused with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Brandy and clove add warmth and spice to the woody base notes of amber, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla.

This fragrance, designed especially for homes and indoor spaces, uses some of the key ingredients traditionally associated with the festive season. 

The Victorians studded juicy oranges with cloves to make pomanders. They hung them on the Christmas tree and exchanged them as gifts. Not only do pomanders look beautiful, but they also smell wonderful, too. 

Look closely and you will see that cloves are dried flower buds. They come from Syzygium aromaticum, a member of the myrtle family. Cloves are traditionally harvested by hand and sun-dried. 

Cinnamon comes from an evergreen tree with small white flowers found in Sri Lanka and South India. The cinnamon sticks, or quills, that we use to decorate festive wreaths and infuse mulled wine are the dried inner bark taken from the branches. The sweet smell of cinnamon comes from an essential oil in the bark called cinnamaldehyde. 

Once very rare – and therefore very expensive – nutmeg is the pip of a fruit from the Myristica fragrans tree. It is used as an ingredient in many seasonal drinks and dishes. 

Brandy hits the menu at this time of year in the form of brandy butter, brandy sauce and as a fire-starter for Christmas puddings. Brandy is a catch-all term for a spirit with a base of grape wine.
